To become a Planet Blue Ambassador, you must simply complete one of our online training courses or attend a group training. No matter which version you complete, all of our trainings cover our campus sustainability goals, our progress on them to date, and how each of us can help contribute. Anyone who is interested can become an Ambassador, and there is no volunteer time commitment, meetings, or annual recertification required. To date, more than 9,200 people have joined our Planet Blue Ambassador community.

TRAINING OPTIONS
Ann Arbor
General Online Training
Choose this general training if you are a student, staff, faculty member, or alumni of our Ann Arbor campus or a local community member. This training is for individuals rather than groups. This training is self-paced and can be completed any time. Completing this training takes approximately 30 minutes.
Lab Online Training
Choose this lab training if you are an individual staff or faculty member who works or conducts research primarily in a laboratory setting. This training will cover some general campus sustainability efforts and resources, but will focus on efforts specific to labs including: lab appliances, fume hoods, ULT freezers, lab recycling, and green chemistry. This training is self-paced and can be completed any time. Completing this training takes approximately 30 minutes.
Group Training Request
Request a group training if you have a group of people who are interested in becoming certified Planet Blue Ambassadors together. This can work well for an office, lab, class, fraternity, sorority, or student group who would like to work on sustainability efforts collaboratively. This training is presenter-led either in-person or via Zoom. The recommended time for a group trainings is 1 hour to allow for Q&A and reflection.
Flint and Dearborn
Our UM-Dearborn and UM-Flint campuses have their own specialized online and group trainings. Choose one of these trainings if you are a student, staff, faculty member, or alumni of one of our sister campuses.
